Article: Why British Pupils Should Study Philosophy

Peter Worley of The Philosophy Foundation argues that improved literacy and numeracy are not the only reasons for schools to offer philosophy lessons. ‘Thinking for the sake of thinking” gives pupils a voice and critical thinking skills – attributes that are essential for citizens of a democracy.
